#BEST STRINGS PLUGINS FOR LOGIC PRO X UPDATE#
I just finished choosing the plugins and thought I'd update the thread so other people who might be interested would see which plugins I chose and why. If anyone has tried other UAD plugins that I haven't mentioned but also work great with strings/woodwinds/brass/European ethnic instruments (i.e. I understand why people would immediately advise me to get the most expensive ones first and then get the cheaper ones on discount, but as I mentioned, I won't be able to take advantage of future discounts coming this year, which means I'm gonna have to make the best out of the plugins I do get now for quite a while. Plus, I already know they work great on most material so they'd already be giving me something I wantĪnother thing is, I already own 2 high-end reverbs, the Zynaptiq Adaptiverb (weird but quite good), and the new Slate Digital VerbSuite Classic (which has an emulation of the EMT 250 and lexicon 480 I believe, among others), so I'm not really sure if the Ocean Way or some other reverb is necessary? (There's also the UAD reverb that came free with my Apollo).
#BEST STRINGS PLUGINS FOR LOGIC PRO X UPGRADE#
I can afford it, but it's gonna be a long time before I can start purchasing plugins again, which brings me to saying that, although I currently own the legacy 1176 and La-2a, waiting for a promo upgrade is simply not feasible, as getting other plugins now instead of these would just leave me without these magnificent wonders for a very long time.

Thing is, I've put all I can put into this custom bundle. Precision K-Stereo Ambience Recovery (instead of using reverbs).Īs you can see I'd be exceeding the limit by 5 plugins. Studer A800 (already own the Slate VTM). Harrison EQ (heard it's really good on instruments like woodwinds I believe) Manley VoxBox (I heard it's great for strings? I don't really plan on using it for vocals other than choir sometimes). These are the plugins I've yet to try but that have sparked my interest: These are the plugins I've already tried and really liked: One thing I should mention is that there are RARELY any drums in my mixes, so the plugins that may be fantastic for kick drums, or snares aren't really a priority for me.

I just got an Apollo Twin Duo MKII (Bounce to disc and Freeze are my 2 new best friends ) and have bought registration offer of 10 plugins, and I would love to hear what experienced UAD users have found to be good plugins for working with such music genres. I work mostly with orchestral music, but also European Folk music, etc.
